Art collections at The Box boosted by new contemporary acquisitions
The Contemporary Art Society has donated three works of art to The Box’s permanent collections. Plymouth’s major new museum, art gallery and archive has acquired a film and a diptych by multidisciplinary artist duo, Quinlan & Hastings. It’s also acquired a stunning porcelain work by Haitian-American artist, Morel Doucet.

Blitz 80: Aftermath of The Blitz
80 years ago Plymouth was reeling from two massive bombing raids which marked the start of the Blitz. This oil painting from our art collections dates from 1947 and is called ‘Aftermath of the Blitz‘.

South West artists selected for development bursaries
The Box has awarded six development bursaries to artists from across the South West. Each bursary is worth £1,000 and can be used by the artists to support existing or new projects and/or research.
