Kate Ferguson, known professionally as ‘Ethira’, is a singer-songwriter and singing teacher from Devon. With a unique soprano vocal style accompanied by fingerstyle and jazz guitar, she first established herself in the folk genre, with her debut album 'Sweet Confusion' which was featured on BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Devon.

The benefits of reminiscence
For well over a decade, we've been delivering reminiscence sessions in a variety of care and residential homes, sheltered housing complexes and rehabilitation units. The aim of the sessions is to spark memories and generate conversation. The golden rules are to have fun, take an active interest in what people choose to talk about and ensure there’s plenty of tea and cake!

Line up and dates revealed for British Art Show
The curators of the UK’s biggest touring contemporary art exhibition, ‘British Art Show 9’ (BAS 9), have revealed its artist selection and dates today. The exhibition will travel to Plymouth in late 2022. Prior to this it will be displayed in Wolverhampton, Aberdeen and Manchester.

National Writing Day: A page from Captain Cook's Log Book
Between the late 1760s and late 1770s, Captain James Cook set sail from Plymouth on three separate voyages of world exploration, mapping and scientific discovery. A unique log book page in his handwriting will be on display in our '100 Journeys' gallery when we open.
