Super Saturday: Festival of Us

Our monthly ‘Super Saturdays’ are inspired by our major exhibitions and feature talks, creative activities, and special events for people of all ages and interests. In October 2026 we’ll be celebrating the ‘Festival of Us’ in partnership with the University of Plymouth and Nudge Community Builders. Our full schedule for the day will be published soon!

Plymouth Art Weekender 2026

Intertidal at The Box Plymouth

Plymouth’s celebration of its rich and diverse creative community returns for 2026! Here at The Box, you can see one of the four Intertidal vehicles that have been travelling around the city over the last few weeks. Created by artist David Cotterrell, Intertidal has transformed four Ford Fiestas into tidal instruments. Using tidal data, digital technology and engineering, the water visible inside the cars rises and falls in response to the changing tide. You’ll also encounter part of (The First Farewell), an alternate reality game artwork created by Molly Erin McCarthy (molmor).

Super Saturday: Plymouth Community History Festival

Join us for a day of history, creativity and community as The Box’s powerful new exhibition, ‘Remember, Respond, Resist’ meets the Plymouth Community History Festival. Through talks, performances, family activities and more, we’ll explore stories of protest, resilience and belonging – past and present. Find out more below.

Take a dip in the pool before you go if you wish – and witness a surprise appearance from an ‘unclothed’ Plymouth icon. All will be revealed on the day!
