Future Archaeology workshops with Naresh Kaushal and Jamie Harper
27 Nov 2024 - 27 Nov 2024
Imagine yourself as an archaeologist of the present. If you visited Devonport today or talked with people there, what stories would you uncover? Future Archaeology workshops invite you to go on a short journey of discovery, showing you fragments of Devonport as it is experienced by people who live and work there. Find out more about these free community workshops below.
Through a series of simple story telling exercises, we will playfully reimagine the places and people of Devonport, creating space for new ideas about the life of this city. The session will last for approximately 45 minutes and is free of charge. At the end of the experience, you can add your imaginings to our visitor book, leaving a message for the archaeologists of the future to discover.
This community engagement event is connected to 'Future Archaeology - The Devonport Collection: An Incomplete Archive', a film in Media Lab gallery that has been created as part of 'Devonport 200', marking the two hundredth anniversary of the founding of Devonport.
Free, advanced booking is necessary.
