Town Criers Competition 2024

Hear ye! Tavistock Place plays host to the long standing Armada Cup competition for yet another year. Come along and listen to this unique event which will see up to 20 town criers demonstrate their skills. ‘The Bellringer’, nowadays more commonly known as a town crier, is an ancient occupation that dates back centuries and whose principal duties were to inform people of news, events and raise the alarm in emergencies.
