Bitesize: Global Plymouth

Bitesize: Global Plymouth

18 Sep 2024 - 18 Sep 2024

Join us to explore a new display that places historic and contemporary objects and artworks alongside each other - from a tiger puppet made in Myanmar in the 1800s to 'Black Water Tiger' (2022) by artist Zadie Xa, which was acquired by The Box earlier this year with the support of the Henry Moore Foundation. This thought-provoking new presentation considers how and why Plymouth’s global histories and collections are being reinterpreted. The city was a key departure point for journeys to America and the development of British colonial power: histories that still impact us today. Come and hear how we’re reframing our global pasts and have your say on the future development of a new gallery display.
