Family Fun: Imagine the Future

Children engaging in an exhibition at The Box

What could Plymouth look like in the future? Come to The Box this October half term and let your imagination lead the way! Decorate large strips of fabric with drawings of buildings you know around the city, then imagine how they could be changed or improved. Use recycled materials to create your own 3D models of buildings – or build and experiment together with Duplo. Come along, get creative and help us imagine the Plymouth of tomorrow.

Explore our galleries after hours to find the pickled sea creatures, make your own spooky sea slime, get creative with mask making, experience some scary storytelling in our fantastic den world, dance to spooky tracks, and don’t forget to wear your best Halloween outfit. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Young People’s Workshop: Film, Art, Action

Young People’s Workshop: Film, Art, Action

Aged 13-18? Come and explore art in film by delving into the moving image archives at The Box! Go behind the scenes in this special workshop and discover original film materials, archive footage and more – all of which show how filmmakers have experimented over time. Using ‘The Way We Live’, a 1946 film by one of Britain’s earliest female documentary makers, Jill Craigie, as inspiration, you’ll design protest banners and then use them to create a bit of your own history on The Box’s pop-up green screen.
