My Story: 'Photos For My Younger Self' by Arth Lawr
Arth Lawr is an established artist who works and lives in Plymouth. He has supported several charity events throughout his career and also works as a social work teacher.
For this ‘My Story’ commission, Arth has produced a series of six ‘polaroid’ paintings that tell his story.
I’ve lived through the bumpy journey but have accomplished a life I never thought possible back in the 1980s and 1990s. I wanted to document how my life, my hopes and my self-acceptance emerged over the years. My ‘photos’ are accompanied by a short, written narrative and show me attending my first Plymouth Pride, meeting my husband, getting married, adopting our son, being a family and overcoming my anxiety.
