I realised my huge privilege at living in a rural area, in the wilds down towards Land's End, at a time where we were bound to our houses or the places we could reach on foot. I am lucky that I am surrounded by nature and can walk to the beach to swim in the sea if I like. That felt like the ultimate freedom at a time where autonomy was something to be fiercely appreciated.
