The Box on Screen
The Box on Screen is a lively series of online conversations about our collections.
The project brouhght archivists, curators and learning staff together to select, share and chat about some of the amazing historic films from our archives. Each episode featured a new theme and new presenters. All were designed to spark memories and start conversations.
Series One
Series One of 'The Box on Screen' looked at women, The Blitz, fashion, rural life, summer, Plymouth after dark and sport and was proudly sponsored by CityFibre.
Series Two
Series Two focused on Plymouth's infamous Union Street, the climate emergency, Dame Barbara Hepworth, Brittany Ferries and Plymouth Argyle.
How it all began
'The Box on Screen' built on the success of our award-winning ‘The Box on the Box’ - an initiative which live-streamed digital reminiscence sessions into care homes, hospital wards and day centres during Covid-19 to help tackle the isolation that many people in care settings experienced during the pandemic.
