Your Recipes, Your Heritage
Delving into the personal recipe books of the people of Plymouth to discover more about the changing food fashions of the 1900s.
Your Recipes, Your Heritage was a two-year partnership project with meals on wheels service CaterEd, Age UK Plymouth and The Elder Tree Befriending Service. It delved into the personal recipe books of the people of Plymouth to create new and exciting heritage-themed menus.
The project looked at the history and changing fashions of our eating habits over the last century, including the fun foods that have sustained and delighted Plymouth over the past 100 years.
The events that took place provided valuable opportunities for people of all ages to come together to share both meals and stories. A fleet of new educational resources designed for older people to use in their homes and exploring the wealth of the collections at The Box were created, including a recipe book celebrating the project's work.
