Children and Young People’s Art Competition 2025
To coincide with our major 2025 exhibition, ‘Forbidden Territories: 100 years of Surreal Landscapes’, The Box will be hosting another Children and Young People’s Art Competition.
The theme for this year’s competition will be 'Surreal [E]states' where entrants are asked to consider using surrealist techniques to explore the landscape around them. This could be where they live, their school or college or somewhere they enjoy spending time (the beach, countryside, park etc).
There are three categories:
• Primary school
• Secondary school
• 18-25 years
Based on the theme ‘Surreal [E]states’, we would like you to submit a work in any medium. For the first time this year we welcome film entries (max 30 seconds). The only stipulation is that the entry must be sent to us digitally (therefore a high quality photograph must be taken of the art work, if a drawing, painting, sculpture, collage etc).
Winner will have the chance to have their work displayed alongside artists such as Salvador Dali and Man Ray.
How do I take part?
The competition will be open from 6 January 2025 until 4 April 2025. We encourage entries from across the whole region.
Further details of how to enter will appear on this page and social media channels soon.
This is a heads-up for you to get thinking about what to create. We can't wait to see what you produce!
